How many photos do you have on your phone right now? How many videos do you have?

The website Gigaom did a story about six years ago and they say that the average person has 630 photos stored on their phone. The story also goes on to say that people with iPhones tend to have more photos on their phones than Android phone users.

The next stat is that women tend to have way more photos than men. So I asked my wife how many photos she had on her phone. She has about 2500 and then I looked at my phone and guess what, I had only a measly 96 on my iPhone.

According to the story the average person takes about 5 photos a day and just a little over 7 videos a month, and most of the videos are relatively short. Most are less than a minute long.

Now I found a newer article from buymobiles.net that had some pretty astounding statistics. There were 1.43 trillion photos taken in 2020 and over 90 percent of these photos were taken by a phone. Here is where the statistics really show how far the once-coveted digital cameras have fallen on hard times. This is what buymobiles.net had to say about the percentages of pictures taken with our phones:

It seems that in the race to be the photographer of the year, mobile phones took the lead and accounted for a whopping 90.9% of the photos taken in 2020. Digital cameras made up 7.3% of the photos taken while tablets made up a measly 1.8%.

Here are a couple of my favorite photos from my phone.

LOOK: Here are the 50 best beach towns in America

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.

Keep reading to see if your favorite beach town made the cut.
