Hot air balloons are a beautiful sight to see floating high in the sky. Another beautiful sight to see is a balloon glow when they are tethered and lit up at night. You can see that and more in June and it's not far from Texarkana .

It's the Red River Balloon Rally that will take place in Bossier City on Friday, June 24 and Saturday, June 25 from 5 PM to 10 PM each night.

When is the Red River Balloon Rally and Festival?

Both Friday and Saturday night the festival will include balloon glows, live music, a fireworks show, tethered balloon rides, a kids’ fun zone, a professional kite flying exhibition and a kite-flying competition. Plus there will be food trucks and arts and crafts vendors as well.

Earlier in the week is when the  U.S. Team Nationals Hot Air Balloon Championship will take place. This is when around 30 of the country's best hot air balloon pilots will be competing against each. The actual rally competition is early each morning from 6:45 AM to 8 AM Wednesday, June 21 through Saturday, June 25.
