Have you always wanted to learn how to play the guitar? Here is your chance to get started in a beginner class at the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana.

The Texarkana Homeless Coalition (TXKHC), in partnership with Texas A&M University-Texarkana, Texarkana College, Bridging the Gaps Arkansas, Community Healthcore, Communities Unlimited, Texarkana Emergency Center, and LifeNet, will host a Community-Wide Opioids Education Workshop and Narcan Training on Tuesday, September 24, at the Truman Arnold Center at Texarkana College.

Have you ever been touring or just walking through an old cemetery and noticed many of the headstones are hard to read, the older they are, the worse condition they tend to be in. Arkansas is loaded with historic cemeteries and the Arkansas  Historic Preservation Program (AHPP) will hold a free Cemetery Preservation Workshop at Huntsville Cemetery on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m

With the temperatures cooling off over the weekend, I couldn't help but start thinking about those wonderful fall festivals. Then I realized it's time to get ready for a great one in east Texas a short drive from Texarkana that will be opening up soon.

The date is set for the tastiest event in Texarkana, one that I personally look forward to every year, Harvest Regional Food Bank's Taste of Texarkana returns on October 22, 2024. Put it on your calendar now so you don't forget.

Over the past month, the staff at Abby Road Texarkana developed a pet supply drive for the Texarkana Animal Care and Adoption Center. The community's response has been overwhelmingly positive, and the drive will culminate this Saturday, September 7, with a huge pet event.

Anyone who knows me knows how much I love the sound of big beefy radial engines roaring up the flight line or maybe a Rolls-Royce Merlin-powered P51 screaming down on show center for a knife-edge photo pass. I'm talking about air shows baby, and there's a good one coming soon in Big D.
