Many people agree that the Pit Bull dog breed can be more aggressive than a lot of other breeds of man's best friend, but some of you may not know that many cities in Arkansas have already totally banned the ownership of Pit Bulls.

We've all seen the arguments for owning any animal you want, "it's the way they are raised." And while I don't disagree with that statement, the other side of that argument is there are some breeds that are simply more aggressive than others. It's in their DNA.

The stat that shocked me the most is listed below in the most aggressive dog breeds list, Here's a hint, #1 is not a Pit Bull. They're not even in the top 10.

Most Aggressive Dog Breeds from TopDogTips.com:

  1. Wolf Hybrid
  2. Cane Corso
  3. Bull Terrier
  4. Rhodesian Ridgeback
  5. Dogo Argentino
  6. Boerboel
  7. Basenji
  8. Saint Bernard (who knew?)

  20. Pit Bulls

I was shocked to see the Pit Bull come in at number 20, after all, they do have the worst perceived reputation of all of the breeds listed above.

Up next we have cities that have banned the ownership of Pit Bulls, there are several other cities that restrict ownership, and some require city registration and proof of insurance.

The thing that Pit owners or any aggressive dog breed owners have to remember and take very seriously, anything your dog chews up is your responsibility. That means property and people. Owning a very aggressive dog breed can become a nightmare if you raise them to be guard dogs.
