Several Teens Arrested in Miller County After Threats
Miller County Sheriffs Deputies make several arrests of juveniles in connection with threatening behavior.
Authorities say deputies were alerted to a Social Media Posting from a juvenile in Miller County that concerned some recipients of the posting. An image associated with the posting, depicted the juvenile holding an Assault Rifle with two other apparent Assault Rifles also in the picture.
Members of the Miller County Criminal Investigation Division began investigating the posting and identified the male juvenile in the image. A check revealed that the juvenile was on Probation for unrelated criminal charges. Working in conjunction with the Miller County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, a warrant for violation of conditions of probation was obtained and the juvenile was arrested at approximately 8:00pm, and was booked into the Miller County Juvenile Detention Center.
Also, a Miller County School Resource Officer arrested a juvenile at a Miller County School for threatening another student. The juvenile made the statement in front of a school official and the School Resource Deputy that he wanted to put a bullet in the head of another. The juvenile was arrested on a charge of Terroristic Threatening and was incarcerated in the Miller County Juvenile Detention Center.
Both Juveniles were scheduled to appear before a Judge in Juvenile Court. Sheriff Jackie Runion stated that “The Miller County Sheriff’s Department will vigorously investigate any threats of violence associated with the use of weapons, or threats of violence in our schools. The safety of our children is a top priority, and our agency has a Zero Tolerance Policy associated with threats or comments that tend to alarm the citizens of Miller County.”
