Text them. Psychologists have found that receiving a text, even just a brief one asking “SUP?” will enhance a person’s emotional state.Therapists have been employing this trick for years. In particular, with their most troubled patients dealing with crippling depression.

Clinical psychologist Adrian Aguilera started an outreach program. He texts mental health patients at random times.

His clients reported feeling more “connected” when they received a text. One said (quote) “I felt cared for and supported. My mood even improved.”
