Fun Day Camp For Kids With Diabetes in Texarkana Starts Soon
It's tough enough as it is to be a kid but you be a kid with diabetes can be challenging and they can feel isolated. That's why the K.I.D.S. Day Camp is so special. Its all about Kids Improving Diabetes Safely and it's fun.
When kids come to this camp they know they aren't alone and they meet other children going through similar daily struggles of working and learning about their diabetes. Best of all this camp has a positive outlook on their futures with diabetes.
The camp is from June 19 to June 23 from 8 AM and goes until 4:30 PM and is for kids between the ages of 6 and 18 years with Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes.
The kids get to participate in a wide range of activities for all ages from swimming, hiking, archery, arts and crafts and fishing. This camp will teach them and encourage them to be responsible in maintaining their balance of insulin, diet and exercise. It also shows them they can join in on fun activities while they control their diabetes. The kids will enjoy a field trip on Wednesday and Thursday is Water Fun Day.
There is also something for the parents to learn too. Parents will have the opportunity to attend a Diabetes Update with the camp staff on Thursday, June 22 from 4:30 to 5:30 PM. Friday there will be a family dinner starting at 5 PM with a camp video showing at 6 PM.
The camp will be located at Camp Karlton Kemp at 670 CR-15 in Texarkana Arkansas.
