The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department has once again partnered with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) during the 2021 Holiday Season. The Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over high-visibility enforcement campaign starts today and runs through January 1, 2022.

Your Arkansas-side Police and NHTSA work tirelessly on spreading the word about the dangers of drunk driving and don't forget this reminder: If you plan to drink alcohol, plan ahead for a sober ride home. These expanded efforts to protect against impaired driving will be conducted in a fair and equitable way.

The Cost of Drunk Driving

Do you have an extra $10 grand lying around? Cause if you get caught driving drunk, that's just about how much it will cost you to get your life back. That's $10,000 in:

  • attorney’s fees
  • fines
  • court costs
  • lost time at work
  • higher insurance rates and more.

Celebrate with a Plan

If you're going to spend an evening celebrating then set up a plan, get a designated driver, and when it's your turn to be that driver, stick to it. Take it seriously, do not consume alcohol at all, not even one. Let's take care of each other.
