New Inclusive Playground to Open at Ashdown City Park
The Domtar Community Advisory Team, the City of Ashdown, and the Ashdown Community Foundation will be officially opening a new inclusive playground at the Ashdown City Park on Friday, November 18, at 1 p.m.
Volunteers from the Domtar Community Advisory Team and representatives from the City of Ashdown will be hosting the official ribbon-cutting event for the new inclusive playground at the Ashdown City Park. Students from the Ashdown Elementary School will be on-site to join in on the festivities. Also invited are representatives from the Blue and You Foundation, who provided a gracious grant of $150,000 toward the project. The remaining dollars were made possible by the many individuals, community, and business supporters of the annual Ashdown Community Auction.
The Ribbon Cutting event of the new playground officially opens to the community at 1:15 p.m. and a reception will follow in the pavilion. The Ashdown City Park inclusive playground is located at 1301 Gordan Drive.
The general public is invited to come out and help celebrate the accomplishments of the community working together to improve the City Park.
This project is made possible by a generous grant from the Blue and You Foundation for a Healthier Arkansas, Roy and Christine Sturgis Charitable Trust, and monies raised from the annual Ashdown Community Auction. The Ashdown Community Foundation is committed to giving back to the local community of Ashdown through improvement projects benefiting the local City Park and downtown area.
