I live in Texarkana, a fer-piece (509 miles) from Littlefield, Texas where country outlaw legend Waylon Jennings was born, but there is a legacy there that you and I can go visit anytime we are traveling through the area, it's especially nice for RV'ers because it's a free place to hook up your RV and stay the night. It's called, the Waylon Jennings RV Park.

Yep, free, as in gratis, no charge, and yes, there are electric and water hookups there. The maximum number of free nights is 4, then they want you to kick up $20 per night. Still pretty reasonable. The park also has a Suggestion Box/drop box for payments and donations.

The RV Park is run by the City of Littlefield and there are several items around the park to remind you that this is the home of the world-famous country music outlaw.

Items like the plaque in the middle of everything with Waylon's birthdate and picture, right under that are his boot prints in concrete.

Right next door is a professional horseshoe pitching field which also has an item of Waylon interest, he threw out the first horseshoe back in 1991 when the field was created.

On the other side of the RV Park is an Ace Hardware, that could come in handy for you DIY'ers.

Waylon's younger brother James Jennings and his wife Helen run the only dedicated Waylon Museum/Liquor Store called Waymore's, and its just a few blocks up the street from the RV Park. I mean, you gotta go there.

Be sure you check out Danny Fyffe's YouTube video below, it's where most of the photos came from. He does a great job showing all the spaces and everything you need to know before you go. Great job Danny.

I don't know if I would call this a bucket-list item, but if I'm in the neighborhood, you bet I'm staying in the Waylon Jennings RV Park for a night.

Littlefield is 36 miles Northwest of Lubbock, Texas right in between BFE and Nowhere. There are not many reasons to go there other than being on the way to somewhere else or taking a Waylon tour. But if you ever find yourself wandering the Texas Panhandle dragging your RV along and you need a FREE place to stay for a night or two, Littlefield has you covered at the Waylon Jennings RV Park.
