A&M-Texarkana’s New Educational Partnership With Cooper Tire & Rubber Company

Texas A&M University-Texarkana has partnered with another business in town to offer lower tuition prices to more people living and working in the Texarkana area. This time Texas A&M Texarkana has teamed up with Cooper Tire & Rubber Company.

This partnership will now allow Cooper Tire employees to take courses at the university at a discounted rate. The partnership was officially signed and sealed with a signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on March 4, 2024.

A&M President Dr. Ross Alexander said in a press release,

We are privileged to welcome Cooper Tire as a premier educational partner. Providing a pathway to credential or degree attainment for the hard-working employees of the largest employer in the region gives me tremendous pride.

 

Tommy Cullins, Manufacturing Director, Goodyear/Cooper Tire Texarkana Plant said,

This collaboration expands the programs already in place and supports our associates in reaching their career path goals by offering undergraduate or graduate programs. Ultimately, the community we serve benefits from our associates’ further skills development.

 

Now, with this agreement, all full-time employees of Cooper Tire can now get a discount of 25% on tuition. This is for all undergraduate, graduate, certificate, or micro-credential programs delivered in-person, online, or through a hybrid format.

Plus, there will be no standard application fee. New students will also receive the First Flight Scholarship. This scholarship gives a new student the first class free as long as they are enrolled in at least 6 hours at the undergraduate or graduate level.
