It's almost time for the Big Event presented by the Texas A&M University-Texarkana.

The 2023 Big Event “Eagle Pride City Wide” is set for Saturday, April 1 starting at 7 AM until 12 PM. This is a great day of volunteerism and community service and it all started at Texas A&M University in College Station back in 1982.

Now it is bigger and better than ever as it now takes place at more Texas A&M campuses and other universities across the country.

This year is the 6th Annual Big Event at A&M-Texarkana. Current students, former students and staff members along with family and friends will team up and help the community as they help with projects or help with community service in other ways in town at parks, community centers, non-profit institutions, and small businesses.

A&M-Texarkana President Dr. Emily Cutrer said in a press release:

“The Big Event is one of the most exciting days of the year. It’s wonderful to see so many members of our Eagle family out in the community giving back. We have many student groups, organizations, and athletic teams who provide acts of community service throughout the year. But on this day, we all gather together early in the morning before spreading out across the city to lend a helping hand.”
