University of Arkansas Football Coach Says What Has Surprised Him (Video)
There's a new sheriff in town in Fayetteville. Chad Morris is beginning his first year as the Razorbacks head football coach.
Morris took over in December for Bret Bielema who was fired at the end of the 2017 football season. The new man was in Texarkana Monday evening, meeting with Hog fans at the annual Texarkana Area Razorback Club dinner and auction. The Texarkana Arkansas Convention Center was filled to capacity with Razorback fans, eager to meet the new head hog.
I asked Morris what was the biggest surprise for him so far since he moved up on the "Hill" from SMU in Dallas. Hear his response in this video from the press conference prior to the dinner.
Morris says they are developing some good senior leadership on the team. He adds they need to continue the momentum they gained from a very good spring, as they head into summer and the fall camp prior to the start of the season.
Morris says his coaching staff will work very hard to recruit players from the state of Arkansas and get a pipeline started for talent from East Texas.
Which means Texarkana area star players to be recruited to play in Fayetteville.
