This Texarkana Assistant Principal Was Selected as Region 8 AP of the Year
It is wonderful to see that the Texarkana area is thriving and one of the best ways to see this happen is in our schools. A big congratulations to the Assistant Principal at Wake Village Elementary School.
Andy McCarter, was recently selected as the Region 8 Educational Service Center Outstanding Elementary Assistant Principal of the Year.
This is a wonderful accomplishment as he is being recognized for his leadership and for taking care of the school's daily operations for the kids and staff.
The National Association of Elementary School Principals helps prepare assistant
principals to excel in the next step of being a principal role.
According to a press release, to qualify for this regional award the nominees must currently be an assistant principal for at least two years as they work towards a positive and motivational environment for others.
McCarter has been an administrator at Wake Village since 2017. McCarter has been working in education for sixteen years. Before receiving his teaching certification he was in the banking industry.
McCarter said in the press release;
"The recognition of Region 8 Assistant Principal of the Year is a great honor for me, but is 100% attributable to the culture at Wake Village and the professionalism of the entire staff!"
