There’s A New Shark Lurking In Shreveport Waters
There is a new shark coming to the Shreveport Aquarium.
This is what the Shreveport Aquarium had to say about their new addition:
Sometimes animals come to us with unique sets of circumstances. Blaze was donated to us in April 2021 from a private collector. After spending several months acclimating off exhibit, Blaze is now swimming in our ocean tank along with some of our other sharks!
Blaze is the smallest of the sharks so she will be easy to spot the next time you make a trip to the aquarium. If you have not been to the Shreveport Aquarium here are just some of the great things you can experience.
The view from the main tunnel lets you see a lot of the great fish in the aquarium.
The bubble in this picture is actually a spot you can sit in to get up close to the fish.
You can actually pet starfish and shrimp at the aquarium.
The aquarium has a large tank that will let you pet little rays.
And let's not forget the displays where you can see jellyfish up close.
The Shreveport Aquarium talked about Blaze and how well she is fitting in her new environment.
All of the sharks at the Shreveport Aquarium are target fed so we are able to monitor exactly how much food each shark eats. We are able to cater diets to specific individuals to make sure our sharks are getting exactly what they need. We are happy to report that Blaze LOVES all of our seafood options and can usually be seen enthusiastically participating in our public shark feedings
Regular admission prices are $15 for ages 13+, $12 for ages 3-12, and kids 2 and under are free.
