City of Texarkana Survey Wants to Know Good & Bad During Pandemic
We got through the pandemic, it at least most of it. How did you do? Was it hard financially? What about emotionally? The City of Texarkana Texas wants to know how well you made it through and how well our community did.
The Texarkana Bowie County Family Health Center has set up a health disparities survey so they can gather information about different experiences with COVID-19 and related issues in our community. They will look at these surveys so they can better prepare for a pandemic in the future.
According to a press release:
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, health disparities are defined as preventable differences in the burden of disease, injury, violence, and opportunities to achieve optimal health that are experienced by socially disadvantaged populations.
The city of Texarkana, Texas is hoping to find all kinds of perspectives so it is important to take the survey. They want the good the bad and the ugly.
Texarkana, Texas City Spokesperson Lisa Thompson told KTBS
"We're you affected financially, emotionally, were there hardships with childcare, with your job, transportation, that kind of thing."
Health disparities can result from factors such as:
· Poverty
· Environmental Threats
· Inadequate Access to Health Care
· Individual and Behavioral Factors
· Educational Inequalities
It's easy to take the survey and it will only take a few minutes. You can click on the link Health Disparities Survey or use your phone and scan the barcode in the photo below.
