Texarkana Public Library to Close For Several Days

On Monday May 13^th, the Texarkana Library Commission approved a resolution to temporarily close the library during a total system migration. 

The servers that house all the library records, which are currently onsite at the library, will be moved to a cloud based server.

During the library closure, the staff will be verifying that migrated data is correct, and they will be training on the new system to ensure a seamless transition when the library re-opens to the public.

The Texarkana Public Library will be closed Monday, May 20^th through Wednesday, May 22^nd to install the new library system.  Renewal of materials, the online catalog, and remote access to Library databases and accounts will be unavailable.  The Library will reopen at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 23^rd, 2013.

Beginning May 23^th, the public will be able to access a new online public access catalog (OPAC) which will have a new look, advanced searching features, the ability to access a library account, and pay fines through PayPal.

Items due on May 20^th through May 23^rd will be due on May 24^th and no fines will be accrued.
