Texarkana Police Continue to Investigate Weekend Homicide
The Texarkana Texas Police Department continues to the weekend homicide of 25 year old Carlos Clark.
Police say Clark was shot in the early morning hours of Saturday morning at a gas station located at 5023 N. State Line Avenue.
At 1:10 AM, Officers were dispatched to a report of a shooting that just occurred at that location. Officers located Clark in the back seat of a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound to the back. Clark was able to tell officers the alleged suspects first name before being transported to a local hospital for treatment. Officers reviewed video surveillance footage and were able to obtain a vehicle and suspect description. Detectives were called to the scene to begin the investigation into the shooting.
Approximately 15 minutes later, Officers were contacted by the suspect’s grandfather and advised his grandson, Tyvon Gullatt, 22, of Texarkana Texas, was allegeldy involved in the incident on State Line. Officers made contact with Gullatt in the 3900 block of Main St. and escorted him to the Bi-state Justice Center to speak with Detectives.
Later in morning, Detectives were notified Clark had died from his injuries. Based on the preliminary investigation, Detectives have charged Gullatt with murder. He is currently being held in the Bi-State Jail on a 1 million dollar bond.
