Texarkana Arkansas School District Closing Schools Due to COVID
The Texarkana Arkansas School District has made a difficult decision to close its TASD schools temporarily beginning tomorrow January 11, through January 17, after reviewing recent COVID-19 and quarantine data and consultation with the Arkansas Department of Education and Department of Health.

Happy New Year! It's time once again to check the numbers for Texarkana and the surrounding area and yes, cases are up significantly this week. That's reported cases, hospitalizations are up in Texas Trauma Service Area F (see charts below) which includes Texarkana, New Boston, and Paris, but not as much as you might think. We are seeing a very slight uptick in COVID cases for the Ark-La-Tex area this week right before the Thanksgiving holiday, however, you will also notice hospital occupancy rates in our area are way down.
