Many folks don't like snakes including yours truly unless they are behind a glass then I'm good with that. But how about a two-headed snake? Would that give you the creeps or what?

Cameron Zoo in Waco, Texas is the home of a rare two-headed snake, according to a CBS News report, The snake is back in a zoo exhibit after a two-year hiatus after suffering an injury to one of its necks. This particular western rat snake is unusual because not only does it have two heads it also has two brains with two different personalities because of that, the snake has been given the name, "Pancho and Lefty" after the iconic country song by Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard.

The two-headed snake has been a part of the zoo since 2016 and is around 2 to 3 feet long in length, the snake was discovered in the backyard of a residential area, according to the zoo's  Facebook page.

Authorities from the zoo say the snake probably wouldn't survive very long in the wild due to its conflicting two brains. The right brain is more dominant than the left brain and seems to be in control of what the snake does and where it goes. Injury to the snake is more susceptible because of this issue which is what happened in 2021. The aquarium building and the exhibit where Pancho and Lefty live contain mostly grass so that the snake can still feel secure without getting harmed by obstacles.

So, if you are ever in Waco, Texas you might want to go by and see this rare snake at the newly expanded 52-acre Cameron Zoo near the Brazos River and downtown area.

Now, I feel so much better that I'm safe and so is the snake.
