What One Thing Can You Say To P*&@ Off Someone From Arkansas?
People from this area, you know the South, are pretty proud of where we are from so is there one thing you can say to someone from Arkansas to get them really mad?
Well, when it comes to Arkansas nobody better talk any smack about the Arkansas Razorbacks. It doesn't matter if it is football, basketball, or even baseball season Arkansans are proud of their Hogs. Maybe a redneck comment might get someone mad.
So I took the liberty to search ut the states from our area and here is the one thing you can say to really p@#$% someone off from these states.
"Go Texas" is the one thing that makes Oklahoma folks mad. Why it's because of the big rivalry between the University of Texas Longhorns and the Oklahoma Sooners. The big Red River Rivalry is one of the most-watched games in our area.
"Memphis BBQ is better" when it comes to BBQ we are all passionate about. Texas BBQ is so big it is actually divided into regions. This is what learntobbq.com had to say about East Texas BBQ:
East Texas style: The beef is slowly cooked to the point that it is “falling off the bone.” It is typically cooked over hickory wood and marinated in a sweet, tomato-based sauce.
Here is what the site had to say about the 'Memphis Style:
Memphis-style barbecue is slow cooked in a pit and ribs can be prepared either “dry” or “wet”. “Dry” ribs are covered with a dry rub consisting of salt and various spices before cooking, and are normally eaten without sauce. “Wet” ribs are brushed with sauce before, during, and after cooking.
"You can't make Gumbo without hot dogs" Check out what Louisianatravel.com had to say about this delicious dish:
An irresistible combination of rice, dark roux (butter or oil mixed with flour), seafood or meat, a combination of onions, bell peppers and celery known as the “trinity” and often okra. In general, Creole-style gumbo incorporates tomatoes and more exotic ingredients. Fun fact: gumbo is the official dish of Louisiana.
Notice there is no mention of hot dogs. Sometimes they use sausage, but no hot dogs ever.
Here is a quick video on chicken sausage gumbo.
"You pronounce it Ar Kansas right?" Arkansas is proud. Proud of their state, proud of the Arkansas Razorbacks, and of course how you say the cities in their natural state. I have heard someone mispronounce the state. You can see my story on the most mispronounced cities in Arkansas here.
But does this really make you mad? Let us know in the comments.
