Talk about a great way to bring in the new year. With a winning scratch-off ticket. That scratch-off ticket was worth a nice prize.
Judi D., a resident of Sevier County, Arkansas rang in the new year the way we all would love to with a life-changing lottery ticket. On Tuesday, December 31, she claimed her $200,000 prize from the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) after playing a $10 instant game called Multiplier Mania.
Judi purchased her winning ticket at the B & B Store on US Highway 71 in Lockesburg. Earlier that day, she bought two Multiplier Mania tickets. Neither of them had any winning numbers, but she didn't give up, and she decided to buy one more.
Once Judi scratched off the third ticket she realized she one the game's top prize of $200,000. To make sure what she saw was correct she took a photo of it and sent it to her daughter to double-check.
“I need you to tell me if we see the same thing,” Judi told the ASL officials.
Multiplier Mania is her favorite game and she plays it daily. Judi has won in the past too with $500 and $5,000 prizes, but $200,000? She wasn't expecting that win.
Judi says she will use the money to make life more comfortable, and she says she won’t stop playing now that she knows winning big can and does really happen.
