With winter weather precipitation expected across the Texarkana area in the next few days, The Salvation Army and Randy Sams' Outreach Center are working hard to ensure that the homeless or anyone looking for a place to shelter for the night and stay warm are invited to one of their shelters.

Warming Shelters in Texarkana For Those In Need

Both shelters have been working with the city to ensure that anyone needing a warm place to stay gets the care and the essentials for a comfortable stay away from the snow and ice predicted for Texarkana on Thursday and Friday.

The Salvation Army has already set up sleeping cots and provides warm clothing essentials and supplies for those who may wish to stay in their homes. The Salvation Army and the Randy Sams' Outreach Center depend solely on the community for donations throughout the year to help keep their shelters running efficiently.

What's Needed at Both Shelters:

  • Coats
  • Jackets
  • Blankets
  • Warm Clothing
  • Hats
  • Socks
  • Scarves
  • Gloves
  • Food
  • Water
  • Non-Perishable Items

Each shelter will also provide a free hot meal to those in need and with the incoming winter weather, shelters could be at capacity quickly.

Donations from food to warm clothing are needed, please drop the items off at The Salvation Army at 400 East 4th Street, Texarkana, Arkansas, or the Randy Sams' Outreach Center at 402 Oak Street, Texarkana, Texas. Monetary cash donations are also welcome at both locations.
