
From Dog Park Shooting to Snowy Trails as Texarkana Police Tackle a Strange Week
Texarkana police have had an interesting week, that's for sure. From a dog park shooting to a late-night unwanted guest at a restaurant to a thief leading police straight to him by following his footprints.
Texarkana Dog Park Dispute Ends in Shooting
Texarkana, Texas, police are investigating a shooting that happened on Sunday, February 1 at the dog park located at Spring Lake Park. Police report that two men started arguing over which side of the park to use, and the disagreement escalated.

One man reportedly pulled out a gun and shot the other in the hand. The 59-year-old victim was taken to CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 70-year-old Glenn Bartley was arrested at the scene and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Police say the investigation is ongoing as they continue gathering details.
Red Lobster’s Uninvited Late Night Guest
Earlier, on Friday, January 30 at 3:45 a.m., officers responded to an alarm call at Red Lobster. When they arrived, they found 38-year-old Michael Carrington sitting at the bar, watching TV and helping himself to drinks.

Investigators say one of the doors wasn’t secure, which allowed Carrington to let himself in. Then he proceeded to belly up to the bar, make himself some drinks and watch a little TV. Sounds like a nice evening until the cops came.
He was arrested for Burglary of a Building and transported to the Bi-State Jail, where police noted on their Facebook page,
the bar is closed, the menu is limited, and the biscuits definitely aren’t as good.
Summerhill Road Burglary Solved by Snow
The week started with a burglary that was easily solved on Sunday, January 25, when Texarkana Texas Police to an early morning alarm at a closed convenience store on Summerhill Road. It seems someone broke in the back door and helped themselves to several vaping products.
What the suspect didn’t think about was the freshly fallen snow. As he walked home from his heist, he left a perfect trail of footprints right to his house.
Eighteen-year-old Bradley Silva was arrested and charged with Burglary of a Building. His mom later discovered the stolen property stashed in his room.
Is the Ice Storm in Texarkana to Blame for These Strange Crimes?
All these unusual crimes in one week. I can't help but think it was because of the ice story and the bitter cold temperatures, which trapped most people in Texarkana inside for close to a week.
