Two Big Events Postponed Due to Possible Winter Storm This Weekend in Texarkana
With the threat of a winter storm this weekend, a few events have been postponed, but the good news is that the two big events have already been rescheduled.
Bridge City Cook-off in Downtown Texarkana
The Bridge City Cook-off that was scheduled for this Friday evening in downtown Texarkana has been postponed and rescheduled for Friday, January 30 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Downtown First Baptist Church, located at 401 Pine Street in Texarkana, Texas
The event will raise money to help support scholarships, homelessness treatment programs, and will also help local agencies provide training to help unhoused people gain skills, find work, and improve their situation.

The theme this year is “80’s Movie/TV” and everyone is encouraged to wear fun 80’s Movie/TV-inspired attire. The entrance fee for chili contestants is $25. Each team will be providing 100 samples for judges and the public. Chili will be judged in three categories, Best Presentation, People’s Choice, and Best in Texarkana. The event itself is free for the public to attend. There is still time to enter the Chili Cook-off.
