Looking back at February 15, 2021, back then called it "Snowmageddon", could that be what's coming this Thursday?

This Thursday night's forecast according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is:

Thursday Night: Snow showers and freezing rain, becoming all snow after midnight. Low around 28. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

If you have lived in Texarkana a while then you should remember almost 4 years ago, February 15, 2021, when we were blanketed by a monster (for us) snowstorm here in Texarkana. When I got to the radio station that morning, which was quite the adventure by itself, it was 1 degree.

Stupid Cold!

I snapped the picture of my dash below with my phone as soon as I got to work. We like to call it "Stupid-Cold" around here, and that it was. The snow began falling on February 15 and by the next day we had 18-22" officially of the fluffy white stuff and the official records show us at -1F. If you reside in Fargo ND... no big deal, here, that's a huge deal, so yeah, SnowMageddon works for us.

About an hour after I arrived at work, my truck was covered again, and the snow was still coming down very heavily.

On the way home from work I videoed a few things with my phone, this one made me chuckle.

Trying to get back home after that first day of work during SnowMageddon 2021 was, shall we say, challenging.

We were lucky at my house, no pipes broken, others were not so lucky. The snow stuck around for almost a week and did some severe damage to plants and shrubs. By far, this was the most snow I've ever experienced growing up in Texas.
