Chili & Compassion: Two Major Events to Support Texarkana’s Homeless This Month
The Texarkana Homeless Coalition (TXKHC) is hosting two very important events this month that will help the homeless in Texarkana.
The annual Point-In-Time (PIT) Homeless Count will take place on Thursday, January 22. Then the Bridge City Chili Cook-Off Fundraiser will take place the next day on Friday, January 23.

The PIT Count takes place nationwide and we need it here locally for funding programs to help the homeless in Texarkana. The annual count is coordinated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and conducted by homeless coalitions each January.

TXKHC Chair Vashil Fernandez said in a press release,
Bridge City Chili Cook-Off provides an opportunity for the Texarkana area to cross the socioeconomic line and identify with the plight of our neighbors for an evening while raising money to provide for their needs.
