Arkansas Upgrades Missing Persons Website with Real-Time Alerts
The Arkansas Crime Information Center (ACIC) has launched a major update to its public missing persons website, NeverForgotten.ar.gov, to include real-time information synced with national law enforcement databases.
The newly enhanced site now automatically updates whenever a missing person is reported to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) by a local law enforcement agency. The system captures and posts the entry immediately, reflecting any changes or new information as it becomes available. If a person is located and removed from the NCIC list, they are automatically removed from the site.
Previously, the site was updated weekly, which sometimes led to delays in public awareness and case information.
Arkansas currently has more than 420 unsolved missing persons cases, involving individuals from 1 to 91 years old. Some cases are as recent as just days, some have been missing for decades.
The upgrade also triggers automatic alerts to Arkansas State Police and the US Marshals Service when new missing person reports are entered, helping law enforcement respond faster, especially in cases involving juveniles at risk of trafficking.
ACIC Deputy Director Rick Stallings led the project and worked closely with the site’s vendor.
“These enhancements will improve the effectiveness of missing person investigations and public awareness campaigns,” Stallings said.
Families of missing persons are urged to provide local law enforcement with the most up-to-date information and photos, which are crucial for maintaining accurate records on the site.
The state’s efforts are supported by multiple partners, including the Attorney General’s Office, Arkansas State Police, FBI Little Rock, and the Morgan Nick Foundation.
“In Arkansas, we work together to support families searching for answers,” said Arkansas Public Safety Secretary Col. Mike Hagar. “Locating missing children and adults is a shared priority.”
