The Impact of Last Year's Effort of the Great Arkansas Cleanup

Did you know that almost 4,500 volunteers worked more than 26,000 hours to keep the state looking great last year? According to a press release, that work took place across all of Arkansas' 75 counties, 217 events were held and removed over 1,300 tons of litter, 8.6 tons of recyclables, and more than 3,100 tires. The volunteers also cleaned 770 miles of roadway and 176 miles of shoreline, while planting hundreds of trees, shrubs, and flowers.

McKenzie McMath Coronel, Director of Keep Arkansas Beautiful, said in a press release.

Whether you’re restoring a trail, beautifying a schoolyard or removing litter from a local park, the Great Arkansas Cleanup offers everyone a chance to make a difference.
