
Hunt an Arkansas Gator: Applications Open for 2025 Season
If you love to hunt, have you ever thought about hunting an Alligator? You can in Arkansas but there are certain things you need to do before you hunt these massive creatures.
The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) is opening the application period for the 2025 Alligator Hunting Season permits. You can apply for your permit between Sunday, June 15, through midnight on Monday, July 14 and you can apply online.

Apply for Alligator Hunting Season Permits in Arkansas
These permits will be issued for hunts on 10 designated public land areas that are located in the southern portion of the state. Each of these permits will allow you to harvest one alligator, but there are rules you will need to follow.
What Are Some of the Rules About Hunting Alligators in Arkansas?
The gator must be at least four feet long and hunting is only allowed from 30 minutes after sunset to 30 minutes before sunrise.
This year the Alligator Hunting Season will take place throughout two weekends in Arkansas. Friday, September 19 to Monday, September 22 and then on Friday, September 26 to Monday, September 29.
What Else Do I Need to Know For Alligator Season in Arkansas?
Before you start planning your hunting weekends, all hunters are required to complete an online orientation. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission officials say it is a must if you want to participate in this hunting season in Arkansas.
