Railroad tracks That's right, it's illegal to get your picture taken on railroad tracks. Did you know this? How many times have you seen a great photo with someone standing on the railroad tracks?

Why is it illegal? First of all, because it is super Dangerous! Even if you see a train from what you think is far away those trains can move fast. The problem is, they can not stop fast. Heck, they can't even slow down fast. It can take up to a mile or more for a train to come to a complete stop!

Railroad tracks are private property. If you don't have permission, you can be fined up to $10,000 and it could also include jail time for trespassing on private property. Is a photo like this really worth it?

For your next portrait, whether it's for a senior picture, engagement or a family photo it might be better to just go to a park or stand in front of a really cool old building downtown. The photo will be just as good and better yet, it will be much safer too.
