5 Texarkana Restaurants That Have survived The Test Of Time
Texarkana has a big selection of restaurants to choose from, but which ones have survived the test of time?
Over the years we have had some great restaurants close and I wanted to find the ones that have made it through thick and thin, those restaurants that have been here through it all. Here is a list of the 5 restaurants in Texarkana that have truly stood the test of time.
5. The Lunch Box
The Lunchbox has been around for 25 years and serves some of the best "home cooking" food you will find anywhere. That picture of their Chicken Spaghetti has my mouth-watering. The Lunchbox is located at 503 South Robison Road in Texarkana Texas.
4. Fat Jack's 1985
Fat Jack's has been bringing a smile to our faces for 37 years. With great oysters and burgers to the awesome seafood and an atmosphere that makes you feel at home. Fat Jack's is that hole-in-the-wall spot that the locals call home. Fat Jack's is located at 3919 Stateline Ave. Texarkana Arkansas.
3. Sure And Carol's
Sue And Carol's Restaurant has called Texarkana home for 47 years. With great food and friendly service, they are definitely a place for you to enjoy a great lunch. You need to be sure you save room for some of their delicious pies. Sue and Carol's Restaurant is located at 938 North Stateline Ave. in Texarkana Arkansas.
2. Waynes Family Restaurant
Waynes Family Restaurant actually started off as a Rawleigh Burger restaurant 56 years ago. When Rawleigh burger closed all of their Texarkana restaurants Wayne Walker, who ran this location in Texarkana took over and it has been greeting patrons with some of the best burgers and the fish, oh the awesome fish. Waynes Family Restaurant is located at 2219 South Lake Drive in Texarkana Texas.
1. Shorty's Diner
Shorty's Donuts And Diner has been feeding Texarkana for 65 years. With a great breakfast and lunch menu, you will certainly find something for everyone. Shorty's Donuts And Diner is Located at 2729 New Boston Road #98 in Texarkana Texas.
I do have to give an honorable mention to TLC Burgers and Fires. TLC has been around for over 38 years and their fresh burgers and fries with that Red River Sand have been a Saturday tradition for many years for my family. TLC is currently rebuilding after a fire and I personally look forward to the restaurant reopening soon.
